Obituary
Eleanor Jean Defazio Hodgkins, 75, died on November 16, 2009. She is survived by her husband, Norman Hodgkins of South Lake Tahoe; her sons Christopher of Greensboro, N.C.; Craig of Westminster, Calif.; and Charles, of San Francisco; her daughter Catherine of California's central coast; six grandchildren; three daughters-in-law and one son-in-law; and a truly enormous network of extended family.
Eleanor was born and raised in Sacramento, and graduated from Sacramento High School in 1952. After marrying Norman in 1957, the couple started a family and lived in several California communities, eventually settling on Partrick Road in west Napa in 1970. She raised her four children while working as an administrative assistant at Silverado Junior High School, Napa High School, and Napa State Hospital before her well-deserved retirement in 1992.
Eleanor's singularly warm demeanor and good humor will be missed by everyone who ever knew her. She was the best.
